As a creative woodworker, you have the option of purchasing kiln-dried wood for immediate use or you can collect wood yourself and set it aside to dry for a certain period of time. But when is this beautiful piece actually stable enough to be processed without the risk of cracking?
With the help of this moisture meter, it is possible to accurately monitor the drying process of this wood. This meter gives you an indication of the moisture content in percent. Under 11% the wood is dry enough and you can start working.
It is also possible to determine the moisture content of building materials as well as the ambient temperature.
- Measurement of moisture content in wood with density between 0.65 - 0.8 g/m³: 10 - 60% (accuracy 0.1%)
- Measurement of moisture content in wood with unknown density: 9 - 22%
- Measurement of ambient temperature: 0 - 50°C or 32 - 122°F (accuracy 0.1°C/°F)
- Measurement of ambient humidity: 25% - 90% (accuracy 0.1%)
