This is an alternative method of sharpening which has made great progress in recent times. A thin layer of abrasive paste is placed on a felt disc (speed: approx. 1500 rpm). The tool is applied vigorously for a few seconds with the bevel against the disc. The heat that is generated melts the paste and the bevel is then sharpened to mirror-like quality.

The 125 mm flat felt discs are available in two versions: a dark, soft disc for sharpening deeper gouges and a harder white disc for sharpening flat chisels and shallow gouges. The 100mm profiled felt discs are available with a convex surface (available in 6mm or 12mm widths) for the inner face of gouges or with a sharp corner for the inner face of chisels.

The discs can be purchased individually or as a set, mounted on a small shaft. These sets can then be propelled with a drill, for example.

Finally, we also offer a complete sharpening machine, equipped with a 550 Watt motor and four discs.
