These hard wax sticks are specially developed for use by woodturners and consist of a special blend of animal, vegetable and mineral waxes including Carnauba (the hardest wax) for high gloss and durability, Ozokerite and Ceresin waxes (with a high melting point) for extra hardness, gloss and water resistance, Microcrystalline wax for durability and water resistance and finally a touch of beeswax for a pleasant "touch".

Waxtik is applied directly to the workpiece while the lathe is turning and then, as with Shellawax products, it is melted by generating frictional heat by slowly working the surface with a polishing cloth. Firm pressure gives a satin-like shine, while light pressure gives a higher gloss. If desired, several layers can be applied directly on top of each other.

Waxtik can of course also be applied over the various Shellawax products and also directly over EEE-Ultrashine for fully waxed workpieces. In addition, the Waxtik can be applied over most oils that can be polished including Organoil and Danish oil provided the oil has dried well and no more fresh oil is sweating out of the pores.

Waxtiks are food-safe but because this is a wax finish, white or dull spots may appear after contact with water. If necessary, these spots can be restored with Traditional wax.
