Notice: EEE-ULTRASHINE is now in eco-friendly jars. These jars are sensitive to temperature differences and to the solvent (turpentine) used in EEE-ULTRASHINE. This can cause the jar and lid to swell and shrink a little.
This gives the impression that the product has shrunk because it is loose in the jar. The labels may come off. The lid bulges a little. And there is an odour of turpentine.
The product has not dried out and still works and feels as good as before. If you find the paste a bit too stiff, you can put some turpentine on ow cloth before application. Or mix a little EEE-ULTRASHINE with turpentine in a separate (non-metallic) container.
EEE-ULTRASHINE turns black if it comes into contact with metal.
EEE-Ultrashine is a polish specially developed for use in combination with Shellawax products but also has a wide range of applications outside these. When used in combination with Shellawax products, it not only gives a beautifully smooth surface but also saves a lot of sanding.
The procedure is as follows:
- Sand the workpiece to at least 400-grit paper
- Apply some EEE-Ultrashine and process it as if it were ordinary sandpaper.
- The effect you achieve in one go is the same as the result you would get if you sanded manually to 2000-grit paper. If you manually sand to 1500-grit instead of 400-grit and then apply EEE-Ultrashine, you will achieve the same effect in one go as you would get when sanding to 4000-grit.
- When the sanding achieved in this way is satisfactory, finish the workpiece preferably with one of the Shellawax products to obtain a beautiful, lasting gloss.
By using EEE-Ultrashine, you achieve the following 3 effects:
- The sanding powder present in the paste, as it were, scours the tops of the mountains of sanding scratches from 400-grit (or the finer grit you used last). So this is the same effect you would get by manually sanding finer.
- During sanding, a kind of "mush" is created which is a mix of the EEE-Ultrashine ingerdients and the sanding dust created in point 1. This "pulp" automatically enters the pores, which also fills the valleys of the sanding scratches. In addition to removing the tops of the scratches as described in point 1, the valleys in between are also filled. This effect is the one achieved in the traditional polishing process by "puffing".
- The last effect you achieve with EEE-Ultrashine is that the workpiece, due to the presence of a little wax in the paste, already starts to shine a little. The shining itself is not important during preparation, but the effect is that if there are still scratches on the workpiece that you had not noticed before, they will become visible now and you can remove them before applying the actual finishing coat. So no surprises later!
Besides preparing wooden workpieces for a Shellawax finish, EEE-Ultrashine can also be used for, among other things:
- Polishing plastic turnings (e.g. pens). In that case, EEE-Ultrashine forms the final finish and no further treatment is required.
- Polishing (turned work of) bone.
- Polishing of (turned) stone.
- Polishing of shells.
- Polishing of various metals.
- Polishing Tagua nuts.
- Cleaning of all kinds of dirty synthetic materials such as Trespa, plastic windows, caravans, polyester, fascias, etc.
- Polishing varnish and other lacquer finishes.
- Optimising polishing work.
In all cases, first try a small piece on an inconspicuous area to see whether your application does indeed give the desired result!
