Starbond Super Glue Accelerator, also known as CA adhesive "activator", is used to significantly accelerate the drying time of cyanoacrylate superglues.

Accelerators are used to significantly speed up the curing time of CA adhesives. They contain solvents and can be used both before and after the bonding process. Accelerators are usually used with thicker and black CA adhesives, as they have a longer potlife. In addition, activators are very useful when preparing uneven surfaces, for material combinations that are more difficult to bond or in colder, drier environments where the curing time can be delayed.

The accelerator is applied with a few sprays. Glue applied to surfaces cures immediately when the accelerator is used, preventing it from flowing away.
In the case of highly absorbent substrates that may not become saturated with adhesive, the accelerator also helps the adhesive cure immediately. This creates an adhesive barrier that prevents overuse of CA adhesive due to excessive penetration. The activator also helps in situations where rapid surface reaction of the adhesive is required, e.g. when making a CA sealant; this allows work to continue quickly and without delay and allows the next coat to be applied, sanded, polished, etc. The accelerator also helps to join two materials that are difficult to join together. In this case, one side is sprayed with accelerator while glue is applied to the other side. When filling holes with CA glue and using the accelerator, keep in mind that - at least for deeper holes - the accelerator only allows the top layer of glue to cure, while the glue layers underneath may still be liquid. In this case, you either have to wait for the glue to fully cure before you can continue working on these layers, or you have to fill the hole by applying several thin layers of glue laminarly from bottom to top.

Unlike other accelerators, Starbond Accelerator dries more slowly, as drying too quickly can result in a lighter or "veiled" surface with many adhesives. Thanks to the pump atomiser, as opposed to a pressurised gas bottle, less accelerator is lost through overdosing and can be applied relatively precisely with short pump strokes. The pump spray bottles can be completely emptied so there is no loss.
