The saw blade must be kept clean, otherwise the cutting action will be lost. Resin dissolves in olive oil, so this is an effective, environmentally friendly way to clean the blade. More aggressive agents can damage the rubber of the handle.
When not in use, dry the saw thoroughly. Store the saw in a dry place.
