Beveled edge chisels are the most versatile and universally used of all workbench chisels and should be an integral part of every woodworker's toolbox. They can be used freehand to cut gently or with light hammer blows. Side chamfers reduce the risk of jamming the cut and give access to undercuts, such as dovetails. Not recommended for heavy-duty applications.
Traditional bolster and sleeve design. Each chisel has a primary bevel of 25 degrees and a secondary bevel of 30 degrees to easily cut harder woods.
For soft woods like pine, woodworkers can profile the primary bevel of 20 degrees and the secondary bevel of 25 degrees differently. Very hard woods such as oak may require a steeper profile (30 degrees for the primary bevel and 35 for the secondary bevel).
