For those who wish to go a step further than concentric turning, ROBERT SORBY has developed the eccentric chuck RS60 ECCENTRIC. Indeed, by clamping the workpiece out of the centre, a whole new range of possibilities is created, possibilities that are limited only by your own imagination. The RS60 is without doubt one of the most perfected eccentric chucks, with the following characteristics :
- Excentric turning and excentric between centres.
- The workpiece can be placed up to 35 mm from the centre.
- An inspection opening facilitates the control of this setting.
- The eccentric setting can be changed without removing the workpiece.
There are three possibilities for clamping: a screw to carry along, a plate to carry along for turning and a cardan shaft holder for turning between centres. These three
These three attachments can be set in twelve different positions on the chuck without loosening the workpiece.
The RS60 is supplied with a 25 mm screw, a 57 mm carrier plate and a two-piece PTO shaft driver. The whole unit is stored in a plastic case. Because of its weight and the forces that arise when working with an eccentric chuck, we recommend that the RS60 is preferably used on lathes with a shaft with M33 x 3.5 thread.
