The Talon Chuck and the Oneway Chuck have some key differences.

Talon: The Talon Chuck is designed for medium-sized wood lathes and can handle workpieces up to 300 mm in diameter. The Talon Chuck uses a geared key mechanism for tightening, which provides a secure grip and is easy to use. The Talon Chuck is more versatile for a range of turning projects, especially if you plan to work on smaller to medium-sized pieces.

Oneway: The Oneway Chuck is larger and can handle bigger workpieces, making it suitable for larger lathes. The Oneway Chuck uses rods for tightening, which can be less convenient compared to the geared key on the Talon. It is better suited for larger projects due to its size and capacity.

Both chucks are high-quality and well-regarded in the woodworking community, so your choice would depend on the size of your lathe and the type of projects you plan to undertake.

They are all equipped with a system where the maximum opening of the claws can be limited to the outside diameter of the clamping system. No protruding claws that could cause hand injuries.

Maximum capacity is achieved by exchanging two opposing claws.

The threaded adapter fits conically into the chuck and is fixed in place with 2 (or 3) screws. As a result, the chuck rotates perfectly concentric. The thread adapter is also equipped with two tapped holes for locking the chuck on a right- and left-hand running machine. Thanks to the interchangeability of the adapter, the chuck can easily be adapted to the axis of another lathe.

A self-centring chuck can switch from compression to expansion without conversion, i.e. immediately. Thanks to the large adjustability of the claws, it is also not necessary to keep exact dimensions when preparing the workpiece. Changing claws is thus reduced to a minimum.

The revolutionary design of the claws guarantees very good, and therefore safe, clamping of the workpiece, both for round and square wood.

Thanks to the unique shape of the inside of the claws, different diameters can be clamped with the same claws without any problems. Changing the claws takes very little time. One of the claws has a pin at the bottom that fits into one of the grooves in the chuck. The length of this groove determines the course of the claws.
