In bright colours and food-safe
These concentrated water stains come in a set of 7 different colours that can of course be mixed at will. As the stains are concentrated, they can easily be diluted up to 10 times their volume while maintaining their strong colour properties. Subtle pastel shades can be achieved by diluting these stains with 100 or even 1000 times their volume in water. These stains are food-safe and therefore applicable not only for decorative objects but also for toys and the like. By successively applying different colours to one workpiece, beautiful effects can be achieved....
The colours are:
- Cedar
- Red
- Light Green
- Dark green
- Yellow
- Blue
- Orange
Applying these stains is as follows:
- Depending on the final finish, sand the workpiece to the desired grit.
- Lightly moisten the workpiece and then let it dry. The applied moisture will cause the sanded fibres to expand, making the workpiece feel somewhat rougher again once dry.
- Sand the workpiece again with the fine grit to remove the fibres that have just risen.
- If necessary, repeat the steps of wetting and sanding until no more fibres emerge.
- Now apply the water stain in the chosen colour and concentration.
- Let the workpiece dry.
- Finish with, for instance, Shellawax or Waxtik.
If the colour turns out to be too strong during application, dilute it immediately by simply adding water (e.g. with a wet cloth). If the colour is not strong enough after application, apply another layer after it has dried.
